Job Description
The Investment Services Analyst will join GEM’s Investment Services team with a primary focus on GEM’s Private Alternatives asset classes and products, supporting day-to-day product execution, client support, and investment operations. The role will partner closely with the Investment Team and Senior Leadership to ensure the smooth functioning of private fund vehicles, including cash flow modeling, internal and external data management and reporting, service provider coordination (banking relationships, portfolio management software, fund administrators, and legal), and coordinating private fund closings and post-close operational setup. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and comfort working across multiple systems and external counterparties. The Analyst will help build repeatable, scaled processes, improve operational workflows, and support timely, accurate delivery of fund-level information to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare internal and external portfolio models, investment dashboards, and performance reporting
- Automate and streamline reporting and data analytics processes across investment services, with a focus on monitoring and reporting on asset classes and underlying managers
- Assist with private fund closings, including investor onboarding workflows, documentation tracking, subscription processing coordination, and post-close operational setup (accounts, reporting packages, and administrator/custodian processes)
- Fulfill prospective investor diligence requests, including investment and performance reporting
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure across internal and external platforms to support investment services workflows
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements
- Tasked with supporting visualization efforts across the firm
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in finance, investor relations, investment operations, data analysis, or a related field
- CFA Designation (or willingness to pursue the CFA designation) is required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a requirement, SQL preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is preferred
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment depending on the needs of the day
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
