Your Team Responsibilities
MSCI is seeking aManaging Director to Lead the Private Assets Finance function, and drive the financial management, financial operations and financial strategy for MSCI’s Private Asset segment, which include its Private Capital Solutions and Real Assets product lines. The Private Asset product lines consists of portfolio management, research, benchmarking offerings, analytics and services that provide private asset investors with performance and risk insights into funds, assets and portfolios. Our solutions are used by the leading investors in and managers of private asset portfolios.
Your Key Ressponsibilities
The Managing Director will partner closely with MSCI product heads, functional leaders and other senior MSCI executives. In this capacity s/he will be an important part of the leadership team. In this role s/he will drive fast decision-making, improved processes and strong business execution to unlock opportunities and resolve challenges. In addition to driving the day-to-day financial management of the business, the Managing Director will help establish segment strategy and drive operational execution in order to support sustainable high growth.
The Managing Director will play a vital role in developing and driving the execution of cross-functional strategic and financial plans that cut across sales, client service, technology, data, research and product. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for all aspects of financial operational metric reporting, analysis, systems and controls related to the Private Asset product lines. This finance leader will be part of a global team, with team members based out of multiple locations, including New York, and Mumbai, .
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills
- Expertise in financial technology and info and analytics. Experience within the Alternative Investment space or with tools providers to Alternative Managers firms strongly desired
- Experience leading strategic initiatives and investments through understanding the competitive landscape, industry trends, market structure and the potential business impact
- Financial statement fluency and understanding of public company controls
- Experience designing and implementing financial systems and business intelligence tools
- Extensive experience with acquisitions, including evaluating opportunities and developing and driving execution of business integrations
- Experience managing through change with demonstrated leadership driving that change
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable insight
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort providing indirect leadership
- Comfortable working in a global, high intensity and high energy environment
- Experience in capital budgeting, resource planning, risk management, P&L analysis, customer profitability, business development, competitor analysis, pricing strategy, product development
- Expertise in operations and financial management
- Experience in developing and using metrics on profitability and growth
- Experience leading strategic initiatives and investments through understanding the competitive landscape, industry trends, market structure and the potential business impact
- Experience with product pricing and profitability review, large deal review & partnering with product & sales management
- The ideal candidate will provide a unique perspective, will question assumptions and challenge effectively and will drive change through innovation and strong commercial knowledge
- Strong understanding of a subscription based selling model as well as an understanding of the SaaS framework
- Ability and willingness to fill other senior leadership roles within the finance organization over time
