Position Summary:
Sands Capital is seeking a motivated Trader with a technologist background to oversee the trading order life cycle by executing orders and considering ways to integrate automation and layer AI over our trading and market data. Furthermore, the Trader will collaborate with key members from our Technology and AI Solutions teams to help provide trading solutions.
Work Expectations:
The work location for this role is Sands Capital's headquarters in Arlington, Virginia on a hybrid schedule of three days per week in-office (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays), or more as directed by your manager. The hybrid schedule is subject to change at any time.
Position Responsibilities:
- Adhering to Best Execution principles, as described by both policy and Head of Global Trading.
- Managing relationships with sell-side counterparts for execution and market color purposes.
- Building rapport with buy-side counterparts to understand and influence best trading practice.
- Supporting portfolio management and investment teams with relevant trading and market commentary.
- System Development. Evaluate trading systems and tactics, with an emphasis on data contextualization, application development, AI integration, and smart automation techniques.
- Coding and Visualization. Synthesize structured and/ or unstructured datasets for the purpose of designing easy-to-understand dashboards for senior management.

Position Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited university (additional trading certifications are preferred).
- 5-10 years of relevant, professional experience in trade execution, particularly electronic trading, coding, and data analytics.
- Highly experienced with database structures (SQL, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake) along with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with data visualization software (including Power BI or Tableau).
- Experience with market data services (including Bloomberg, Factset, and Barra).
- Exposure to trading order management systems, back-end architecture, and calling or requesting data through APIs.

Salary and Benefits:
The compensation for this role includes a base salary range of $125,000 to $185,000 (as determined by the candidate's professional experience and relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities), as well as a discretionary, performance-based bonus. Bonus targets may vary by position and are based on both individual achievement as well as broader firm performance.
