OVERVIEW:
Vitruvio is a tech-enabled financial operations provider for the insurance industry, launching out of the D. E. Shaw group. The company seeks a technical product manager to play a central role in building Vitruvio’s core technology platform to support, manage, and automate financial operations delivery. This hands-on role offers the chance to join as the founding product lead, with end-to-end product ownership from ideation to execution in an early-stage environment and a clear path to build and lead a team as the company scales.
The role is with Vitruvio, not the D. E. Shaw group. As a portfolio company of the D. E. Shaw group’s venture studio, DESCOvery, Vitruvio benefits from the firm’s entrepreneurial expertise and network. Please note that Vitruvio will be reviewing all applications and making hiring decisions independently of the D. E. Shaw group.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You’ll lead the development of Vitruvio’s tech platform to enhance and automate service delivery and improve visibility into business performance. In this role, you’ll also:
- Collaborate with business and service delivery teams to define product specifications and drive execution.
- Design and implement automation, productivity tools, and internal systems to streamline financial operations, optimize performance management, and balance service delivery capacity with client demand.
- Manage the tech stack build-out from an early stage and ensure smooth technical implementation.
- Design data schema and manage internal databases.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher, an impressive record of academic and professional achievement, and three to six years of relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience developing technology products alongside development teams, and at least one year of experience building workflow products that support business activities and processes.
- A sound technical foundation in full-stack product development—spanning APIs, databases, and user interfaces—with the ability to read and execute code and to oversee technical aspects from architecture decisions to implementation details.
- Demonstrated experience taking a product from conception to completion, ideally in a startup environment, and hands-on experience using LLMs to develop features, tools, or products (personal, professional, or academic experience is acceptable).
- Excellent communication skills, a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience or knowledge in accounting and insurance is a plus.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $185,000 to $230,000.
