Estimated Salary: $165,000 - $185,000
Job Summary:
The Wealth Management DCIO/Retirement Consultant is responsible for growing Cohen & Steers presence and market share with financial advisors, RIA’s, record keepers, and TPAs (platforms).
The Consultant will work closely with team members in Wealth Management and other areas of Cohen & Steers to support the growth of the DCIO/Retirement business by ensuring that CNS investment products are available, recommended and utilized by financial advisors in their territory.
The Consultant will be the primary point of contact for the financial advisors at RIAs and broker-dealers in their territories, providing detailed product information, managing the process to respond to any requests for information about CNS products, and providing strategic information including investment trends, CNS thought leadership, and other items identified as important to the analysts.
Working closely with the Head of Retirement, the Consultant will support the Wealth Management sales team in meetings with plan advisors and retirement platform wholesalers, providing DC expertise, access to leading plan advisors and support in closing business. In conjunction with Retirement and National Accounts, the Consultant will assist in developing deeper relationships with the retirement plan areas of leading distributors, as requested.
Position requires strong investment skills, a deep understanding of Cohen & Steers products and vehicles, and the ability to work effectively with several assigned/territory RIA Aggregators, Advisors and other retirement firms. Further, the position emphasizes communication and collaboration across the CNS organization, including the Wealth Management sales team, portfolio management, Institutional Marketing, Wealth Management, legal, compliance, operations, and corporate finance.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Responsible for growing Cohen & Steers presence and market share with Advisors and RIA’s in the assigned territory with a focus on gaining access to short lists
- Cultivate strong relationships with a broad spectrum of financial professionals within your territory—including wirehouse advisors, independent broker‑dealer advisors, RIA firms, retirement plan consultants, aggregators, and some individuals at TAMP/recordkeeper partners.
- Ensure that Cohen & Steers investment products are available and highlighted on the Advisor, RIA and recordkeeper’s investment platforms
- Deliver compelling investment narratives by presenting the firm’s DCIO/Retirement capabilities, thought leadership, and portfolio insights in one‑on‑one meetings, group presentations, webinars, and industry events.
- Promote recognition of Cohen & Steers as a leader in the DCIO/Retirement industry, emphasizing our investment capabilities, thought leadership, and focus on real assets as important benefits of partnership with Cohen & Steers
- In conjunction with Retirement leadership, National Accounts and Wealth Management sales teams, coordinate activities with, plan advisors, recordkeepers and key distribution partners to support activities designed to increase use of Cohen & Steers investment products and asset classes in defined contribution plans
- Partner effectively with Cohen & Steers Institutional, Consultant Relations, Marketing and Sales, Investment Product, Relationship Management, and Global Marketing to bring appropriate resources to engage and assist in the growth of the DCIO/Retirement business
- Maintain rigorous pipeline management using CRM systems to track activities, analyze sales data, segment opportunities, and report progress to senior leadership
- As appropriate, ensure access to Cohen & Steers investment teams
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of work experience in financial services
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience with defined contribution RIA’s, Advisors and/or record keepers
- Bachelor's degree required FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses

- In-depth understanding of investment products, the financial services industry (particularly defined contribution market), financial concepts, product knowledge, investment management, and client-service strategies
- Prior experience in presenting investment capabilities to retirement plan advisors, plan sponsors, investment analysts and investment consultants.
