The Difference You Make:
The Capital Risk function is responsible for identifying and assessing the exposure of Santander US capital to specific events or the combination of circumstances that may impact on its position or the quality of its assets. The capital risk management oversight team reports to the Chief Treasury Risk Officer. The capital risk function ensures that capital management decisions are consistent with Santander capital policy guidelines, risk profile and appetite, preserve Santander US capital adequacy, contributes on meeting its regulatory requirements. As an independent function from management, the capital risk function escalates to senior management any capital issue or deficiency, and review and challenge the management decisions associated with Capital, including strategic planning and budget, stress testing, and capital initiatives and significant risk transfer activities.
This role supports the firm’s regulatory capital governance and oversight, helping ensure capital measurement and reporting processes are accurate, well-controlled, and aligned with applicable regulatory expectations. The position partners with different stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and key business teams to monitor capital performance, attesting capital metrics and Risk-Weighted Assets (RWAs) to support that regulatory reports accurately reflect risk estimates and comply with regulatory standards, and provide effective review and challenge across capital-related activities.
Position Summary
Review, validate, and attest to regulatory capital and risk-weighted asset (RWA) calculations under US GAAP and IFRS, including targeted testing to help ensure reported results are accurate and compliant with applicable standards.
Analyze complex data and capital reporting outputs to assess the soundness of methodologies, assumptions, inputs, and results.
Monitor trends in capital metrics, identify key drivers of change, assess material impacts, and track management actions to support capital adequacy.
Support independent review and challenge of capital planning, stress testing, budgeting, and strategic capital initiatives through detailed analysis and thorough documentation of conclusions.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting for Global Headquarters, senior management, and governance committees.
Maintain capital risk issue management activities, including issue logs, remediation tracking, and escalation of deficiencies in line with established governance frameworks.
Contribute to regulatory examinations, internal audits, remediation initiatives, and capital-related projects to support sustained compliance and continuous process improvement.

Education
Experience
5 years+ of experience in a finance-related function – Required.
2+ years of experience in capital management, market risk, or credit risk or finance related function with experience in regulatory capital reporting – Required.
Skills
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with databases such as Access, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or SAS.
Strong analytical capabilities to assess capital metrics, RWA calculations, and regulatory reporting outputs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
Ability to operate independently in a dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proactive mindset with initiative in developing efficient analytical solutions.
Detail-oriented approach with the ability to interpret complex data and identify drivers of variation.

What Else You Need To Know:
The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
