The hire will work on the Direct Lending team, which focuses on providing senior secured loans to middle market companies. The team is seeking a generalist Sponsor Coverage Originator with private equity sponsor relationships and deal flow, to join the New York team with the following specific responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities
- Originate middle market direct lending opportunities
- Work closely with the team to structure, underwrite and close transactions
- Prospect and cover deal sources, including financial sponsors that target Core Middle Market companies (EBITDA of $15 -75 million)
- Work closely with the team through the due diligence, underwriting, approval and closing process
- Negotiate and review term sheets, credit agreements and associated legal documents
- Supervise and mentor junior professionals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from top tier university
- 10+ years of experience required
- Leveraged finance background required
- Private Equity Sponsor relationships
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and unquestionable integrity
- Highly motivated self-starter who is coachable; willing to embrace a collaborative firm culture
- Possess superb written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills
- Analytically strong and intellectually inquisitive
The average salary for this role $200,000-$250,000 in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.
