What you'll be doing
As a US Internal Audit Manager/Senior Audit Manager within CIBC’s US Operations portfolio, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our audit processes across areas such as Loan Operations, Payment Operations, Capital Market Operations, Data Risk, Third Party Risk, Operational Resilience, and Business Continuity Management. You’ll lead audit engagements and projects, applying CIBC’s Internal Audit methodology and standards to drive excellence and efficiency. Your strong business acumen and leadership skills will enable you to manage complex assignments, foster collaboration within the team, and contribute to the strategic direction of the audit function. You’ll build trust with business partners, maintain transparency throughout audit processes, and ensure that corrective actions address root causes. By sharing your expertise and coaching others, you’ll help create a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the audit team.

How you'll succeed
Audit leadership and project Management – Lead comprehensive audit engagements from planning through execution, ensuring adherence to CIBC’s Internal Audit methodology and standards.
Risk assessment and scoping – Identify key business processes, control environments, and residual risks; scope audits using an integrated approach that covers technology and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder engagement – Build trust and rapport with business partners, maintain transparency on scope and timelines, and obtain commitment to corrective actions.
Reporting and documentation – Draft clear, concise audit reports and issues, articulating risks to CIBC; document decisions, rationale, and sampling approaches in relevant templates and systems.
Team development and coaching – Provide feedback and coaching to audit team members, share knowledge and best practices, and set clear expectations for performance.
Continuous improvement – Challenge planned testing, suggest improvements, and instruct the team to perform new data analytics to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
Who you are
You’re a proven leader. You bring at least 5 to 8 years of relevant audit experience and demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills. Kindly note that we are hiring for either Audit Manager or Senior Audit Manager.
You have relevant education and credentials. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Professional designations such as CPA, CIA, or CISA are preferred.
You’re a strong communicator. You have excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to foster understanding and drive problem-solving.
You’re adaptable and collaborative. You thrive in dynamic environments and work effectively with diverse teams and business partners.
You have financial services experience. Experience within financial services or banking is preferred.

This role has an expected salary range of $120,000 USD - $150,000 USD based on experience, qualifications, and location (salary differential for different locations will be discussed during the interview). The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
