Analytic Quality & Validation (AQV) is a global control function within Ratings that evaluates the quality and consistency of S&P Global Ratings’ credit analysis, criteria, and models. The team is collaborative, data-driven, and focused on building tools and processes that improve transparency and repeatability across our ratings platform. The role of the AQV Analyst is to support the analytical activities of AQV. The position supports the development of tools and analyses that enhance AQV’s ability to evaluate the quality of S&P’s ratings analysis and assists in the research of the quality of our criteria, models, and their application to assign ratings. In particular, the Analyst will participate in risk-based activities, as assigned, and is expected to be an active contributor to the team’s data sourcing, table design, tool development and maintenance of its analytic platforms and visualizations. The Analyst will also support different aspects of AQV’s operations, including in the development of tools thatsimplifyor automate our processes. The role is within a multi-cultural, global team that works closely together, and requires excellent multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to independently analyze and solve problems in a timely and insightful manner. It will suit a diligent and analytically curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
The Impact and Responsibilities:
This role helps ensure the integrity and consistency of S&P Global Ratings’ analytical output by developing data pipelines, tools, and visualizations that support risk-based reviews and ongoing validation activities. The Analyst’s work improves the efficiency of AQV processes and informs senior leaders on rating performance and model application.
Use Python, SQL, PowerBIand similar technologies todevelop and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and visualizationsthatsupport AQV’s reviews and reporting.
Contribute to data engineering and data organization efforts, including data mapping, warehousing, and automation to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
Compensation/Benefits Information:(This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
Basic Required Qualifications
BA or BS in business, finance, data science, computer science, engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree desirable.
Experience with data engineering concepts, data warehousing, and datamodeling, and familiarity with Power BI (or similar visualization tools) .).
Prior exposure to credit risk analysis, financial statement analysis, or ratings methodology, risk analysis, financial statement analysis, or ratings methodology
