Position Summary
Carlyle Global Credit is seeking an experienced finance professional to support and oversee all aspects of fund management for the Structured Credit Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) platform. This individual will serve as a key member of the CLO Management Finance team, partnering closely with the Structured Credit investment professionals to execute and manage CLO transactions across the product lifecycle.
The role requires deep accounting and finance expertise, a strong working knowledge of structured credit and CLO mechanics, and familiarity with valuation methodologies applicable to both liquid and illiquid credit instruments. The successful candidate will operate in a highly cross-functional environment, coordinating with Investment, Legal, Tax, Corporate Accounting, external auditors, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational execution.
This position requires demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment. The individual will also be responsible for mentoring and developing junior team members while serving as a primary point of contact for investors, TPAs, and internal stakeholders across the firm.
Primary Responsibilities
Fund Management & Operations
- Lead coordination of fund and deal closings, partnering with Investment, Legal/Tax counsel, and Middle Office teams to ensure timely and accurate execution, including oversight of legal entity structuring.
- Oversee formation of new legal entities, including preparation of documentation for internal Legal Entity approvals and coordination of tax documentation setup (e.g., W-8, W-9).
- Monitor compliance with fund governing documents, credit agreements, and side letters; escalate issues and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Oversee preparation and review loan valuation for quarterly Valuation Sub-Committee meetings.
- Oversee preparation and review of Economic Net Income (ENI) models, ensuring completeness and accuracy of inputs sourced from the deal team.
- Maintain and validate performance metrics; oversee quarterly updates to investor and marketing materials.
Accounting, Financial Reporting & Investor Reporting
- Oversee quarterly fund closes in coordination with the Third-Party Administrator (TPA), including detailed review of:
- Balance sheet and income statement support
- Consolidation workpapers
- Financial statement footnotes and disclosures
- Monitor and review CLO consolidation analyses under U.S. GAAP (including VIE considerations).
- Review CLO-related disclosures in the firm's Form 10-Q and 10-K filings, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation entries.
- Coordinate interim and annual audit processes, serving as primary liaison for external auditors, including oversight of SOX and SOC 1 testing.
- Oversee preparation of responses to investor inquiries and ad hoc reporting requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Management Company Reporting
- Oversee monthly close process for the management company, including review of:
- Cash reconciliations
- Budget-to-actual variance analyses
- General ledger activity in coordination with Corporate Accounting
- Coordinate CLO-related inputs and disclosures for the firm's public company reporting requirements.
- Manage monthly working capital reviews and quarterly billing processes for management fees and expense reimbursements.
- Review and approve expense allocations and invoice payments to ensure proper attribution and compliance with governing agreements.
- Partner with Vendor Contract Management to review and approve new service agreements impacting the CLO platform.
Tax Reporting & Planning
- Facilitate tax planning discussions in coordination with Corporate Accounting and Tax teams.
- Oversee coordination with internal and external tax advisors on transactional and structural matters with tax implications throughout the year.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of information required for fund and management company tax compliance and reporting.
Requirements
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor's degree, required
- Concentration in Accounting or Finance, preferred
- CPA designation strongly preferred
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of overall relevant experience, required
- Experience in structured credit, asset management, or public accounting, preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with emphasis on investment fund accounting and consolidation (including experience with structured entities preferred)
- Experience with CLO structures and credit strategies strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience overseeing third-party administrators (TPAs) and managing external audit processes
- Experience operating in a SOX-controlled and/or public company reporting environment preferred

Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $155,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
