BlackRock Capital Markets (BCM) is a single center of excellence across sourcing, co-investment, corporate solutions and financing for the firm. It is a holistic, comprehensive investment platform that provides solutions across the capital stack. BCM helps to deploy public and private capital in active portfolios across the BlackRock platform.
Role Overview
BlackRock is seeking a Vice President in the Leveraged Finance Capital Markets business. The VP, based in New York, will be responsible for executing and managing the new issue process across High Yield bonds and Leveraged Loans. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential. The role will require daily communication with sell-side capital markets and sales professionals as well as regular dialogue with certain key BlackRock investment teams. The ability to build relationships and trust with these groups will be essential.
Responsibilities
- Daily management of new issue processes in Leveraged Finance
- Coordinate with the Street regarding all new issue activity
- Manage new money order process, including dissemination of new deal information to all constituents internally
- Aggregate and consolidate feedback from different investment teams and engage Investment Banks to obtain best outcome / allocation
- Learn and manage a variety of compliance and business reporting systems, processes and procedures
- Track, prepare and present market data and market conditions to the broader Credit teams and senior management
- Fundamental company analysis to drive investment idea generation
- Assist the team in evaluating unique investment opportunities, including managing reverse inquiry
Qualifications
- 5+ years in capital markets, investment banking or a buy-side institution, with exposure to Leveraged Loans and/or High Yield bonds. Understanding of the liquid credit markets and/or experience in evaluating credit opportunities is important
- Genuine passion for the financial markets and a self-determined drive to achieve superior performance
- Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive, fast paced environment; attention to detail mandatory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear messages and the acumen to lead discussions with investments teams, senior executives and external counterparties
- Self-starter who can work effectively with a team and within a larger organization
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements through fundamental analysis
- Familiarity with credit documentation is a plus
- Proficient technology orientation (Strong Excel skills required; the following a plus: VBA, SQL, & Tableau)
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 - $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
