The opportunity
As the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Leader, you will serve as the lead advisor to the Strategy & Transactions (SaT) Service Line (SL) leadership team around inclusiveness and diversity at the field level, in coordination with Americas wide inclusiveness initiatives, projects, and plans. Responsible for assessing needs, identifying, and recommending ideas and programs that contribute to and promote diversity/inclusiveness in the firm. and You will execute diversity/inclusiveness initiatives aligned to the Americas DEI strategy to successfully impact development, retention, and advancement.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will serve as the DEI thought leader and advisor to Americas SaT Service Line Leadership on all DEI matters including incorporating Americas DEI strategy into practice’s strategic direction and drive accountability across the service line to execute against the strategy.
In addition, you will:
- Educate and coach across the service line on the Americas DEI strategy including DEI core principles and activation resources and tools.
- Examine and analyze SL data information and trends to inform business leaders and talent to support SL priorities and focus areas against the Americas DEI strategy.
- Partner with Service Line Talent Team to influence key people processes (where applicable to the SL) and activities to ensure equity and inclusion are integrated.
- You will work in collaboration with Service Line Talent (including consultation with talent functions such as Talent Consultants, Talent Development, Talent Attraction and Acquisition, Experience Management and Operations) and other applicable SaT leaders on:
- Pipeline development
- Talent Review
- Initiatives and programs to attract a diverse workforce.
- Work with SaT leaders to integrate DEI initiatives across SaT (i.e., sector, competency, practice areas)
- Serve as SL consultant to experience management to support equity in staffing initiatives.
- Actively monitor SL participation in DEI education and learning
- Collaborate with SL Brand Marketing and Communications to ensure DEI is incorporated into Service Line communications/messaging.
- Lead National Practice DEI support which includes executing initiatives as aligned to the Americas DEI strategy.
- Supervise DEI Consultant who supports SL and national practices.
- Provide Service Line specific feedback/input to inform the Americas DEI strategy and address innovation unique business needs (e.g., programs and/or culture shaping efforts)
- Serve as SL DEI liaison to DEI councils and advisory groups as necessary.
To qualify for this role, you must have
- Strong knowledge of the transactions business
- Strategic and conceptual thinking
- Possess extensive knowledge in inclusiveness/diversity (gender, ethnicity, Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT), disabilities, generations, etc.)
- Firm understanding (the business and culture)
- Understanding of Equal Opportunity Employment (EEO) laws
- Large scale project management and oversight skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Approximately 10-12 or more years general management experience with an emphasis in Human Resources, Operations, Change Management or Organizational Design
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Society of Human Resource Certification (SHRM), SPHR or PHR credentials, Project Management Professional certification (PMP), preferred but not required.
- General management experience
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to influence multiple constituents.
What We Offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $174,500 to $336,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $209,500 to $381,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
