Job Description
Ares Management is currently seeking a Treasury Systems Product Manager to join the Deal & Order Management Systems team within the Technology & Information Security organization in our New York or Los Angeles office. The IT team consists of over 300 team members globally and is responsible for the firm’s technology landscape. The Deal & Order Management Systems team within IT oversees and manages Ares’ Front Office and Investment platforms. The group supports the business across all Ares’ pools of capital, and the core functions include developing the technology strategy, vision, project execution, and support for these investment platforms.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of the Treasury Management System (TMS) and its integrations. This individual will work closely with corporate strategy, treasury operations, and other technology verticals to provide enhancements and ongoing support for the firm’s treasury program. To be successful, you will need a sound understanding of the treasury management function in alternative investments, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a self-starting attitude.
Primary functions and essential responsibilities:
Lead the Treasury & Cash Management function supporting our firmwide Treasury Management System (TMS) across treasury operations and F&A groups, including Liquidity Management, Debt Management, Cash Forecasting, Cash Reconciliation, and Collateral Management
Run business analysis and facilitate requirements gathering sessions for implementations, integrations, and system upgrades.
Engage with the business stakeholders to evaluate their needs and problems, clarify and document requirements, and help design solutions by translating business requirements into functional requirements
Collaborate with internal technology groups and the vendor to design and implement system integrations between the TMS and other platforms (e.g. fund accounting, order management system, deal pipeline)
Act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting our TMS and associated workflows; provide best-practice guidance to the business stakeholders and internal development partners. Identify opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiencies
Maintain and act as Subject Matter Expert of the SWIFT gateway architecture, SWIFT message delivery processes, and support/troubleshooting of all MT/MX messages
Create and maintain data mapping flow charts and integration architecture diagrams
Assist in the product rollout and upgrade process by driving decisions, tracking issues, and assisting with a timely resolution in support of the initiative. Provide post-rollout and day-to-day product support as needed
Participate in building, maintaining, and executing project plans across the TMS landscape. Keep the stakeholders and sponsors abreast of project and milestone updates in coordination with the Corporate Strategy team
Establish strong working relationships with the business and development teams to facilitate application support and adoption
Engage and actively participate in the sprint and release planning discussions; Drive efforts to support and improve the QA/UAT, user training, and change/release management processes

Education:
Experience Required:
5+ years of relevant business analysis experience in the financial services industry
Prior experience with an alternative asset manager preferred - broader asset management experience is required
Prior experience with implementing or supporting a Treasury Management System such as Kyriba, GTreasury, Hazeltree, or SAP Treasury
Expertise surrounding the creation and usage of APIs (REST) as well as the transfer of data and its nuances between systems
Ability to understand database schemas and objects, and querying the data utilizing SQL
Understanding of loans, bonds, equities, structured products, FX spots/forwards, and derivatives and their trade lifecycle in respect to the impact in cash and liquidity upon settlement and funding
Prior experience in managing system integrations with other financial systems
Prior experience building out reports preferably in PowerBI or Tableau
Knowledgeable in automation as well as workflow management for wire and funding approvals
Experience with Agile project management methodology
Experience supporting and troubleshooting SWIFT messages is required
Nice to have prior experience using Power Apps and Power Automate to streamline data centralization and storage

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$180,000 - $220,000
