Job Description
The role
In this Architect role within Fidelity’s Corporate Technology Group (CTG), you are responsible for driving technology strategy and architecture across a range of new and existing capabilities. You provide leadership to the product teams through architecture designs, adoption of emerging standards, and collaboration with key partners. You will evaluate, recommend, and help migrate current data center applications to cloud and software as a service (SaaS) as a means to drive scale, modernize infrastructure, and optimize cost in support of our enterprise-wide Firm Foundations Cloud program.
The Team
CTG provides internal enterprise-wide internal organizations like Finance, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Security with effective and efficient technology products and ongoing solution support. To do all of this and align group structure with our business partners, we have over 900 associates in Fidelity locations across the United States, Ireland, and India.
The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required
- 10+ years of technology experience with 5+ years of experience as an architect required
- Proven leadership skills, demonstrated ability to influence, and partner with product/application teams, peer architects, and partner organizations in technology evaluation, selection, recommendation, and configuration
- Experience in proposing blueprints and roadmaps, and collaboratively defining solutions and their enabling architectures
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with product managers, architects and technical leads for individual products and applications
- Ability to drive solutions architecture design and ownership and articulate architecture solution options to the product owners and architecture leadership
- Nice to have experience in GRC
- Experience in AWS services technologies and practices, building applications using services such as AWS EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda, Cloud Formation. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional preferred
- Demonstrated SaaS and IaaS design and implementation experience, including properly handling confidential and highly confidential data
- A well-grounded knowledge of engineering and continuous integration & delivery CI/CD practices
- Experience with build containers-based systems: Architecture, implementation and managing orchestration platform such as: Kubernetes, Docker, EKS
- Deep understanding of well architected framework implementation in Enterprise: Operation Excellent, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency and Cost optimization

The Value You Deliver
- Providing technical architecture for multiple complex projects
- Identifying integration patterns and points between design areas across the stack (UI, security, database, etc.)
- Identifying and championing the creation and use of common services and components
- Making authoritative recommendations for technical issues, standards, and strategies
- Anticipating the applicability of major industry trends in the Fidelity environment and implementing plans
- Providing leadership to Proof of Concepts (POCs) for assessment of technical and business benefit
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
