What you will be doing?
Barclays Services Corp seeks Vice President, Model Risk Management in New York, NY (multiple positions available):
- Design and implement data processes for model risk projects taking into account stakeholder needs and technical strategy of the organization.
- Support the execution of various reporting and data projects in compliance to risk management policies and procedures.
- Perform data processing, analysis and aggregate information from various data sources, conduct risk review alongside senior risk managers.
- Build, produce and deliver monthly and quarterly reports pertaining to risk management and model performance to senior management.
- Lead automation of risk reporting by creating Dashboards, using tools such as Python or R to analyze model risk and any risk events, control issues and other breaches against firm policies and standards.
- Perform model validation and provide effective challenge to model components throughout the model lifecycle, including modelling data and input, modeling methodology and performance, model assumptions and limitation.
- Present model validation results, including findings and model ratings, to model owners, users, senior management and when requested by regulators and internal audit.
- Assist in stress test activities such as CCAR / DFAST, ICAAP, IST and assess the comprehensive of model assumptions, data sources, limitations, and weaknesses of the databases, systems, and frameworks.
- Perform quality assurance on reports to ensure they are in line with relevant governance related standards and policies.
- Support UAT testing activities for new applications and systems that are used within Model Risk.
- Regularly review controls to ensure on-going best fit, compliance and efficiency improvements can be implemented.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $184K per year

Purpose of the role
To design frameworks, provide governance of model risk, controls, infrastructure and reporting as well as providing oversight for compliance of the Model Owner community with the Model Risk Management framework
Accountabilities
- Development, maintenance and management of a globally consistent model risk framework that complies with the firm’s major regulatory requirements.
- Delivery of model inventory and workflow, including associated data quality & reporting and oversight of Quantitative Processes.
- Assessment of the controls employed by the various areas of Barclays that own models to determine their level of compliance with and implementation of the Model Risk Framework.
- Establishment of the Model risk appetite. Model risk tolerance reports are provided to the respective Group level and legal entity committees where relevant.
- Management of the strategic Validation Center of Excellence, performing independent quality assurance to assess whether validation outcomes are well supported by IVU’s assessment of the model.
- Oversight of regulatory and audit responses and interactions within MRM.
