SVP, Counterparty Credit Risk - Financial Institutions
Job Description:
SVProle within Global Counterparty Credit Risk management will be responsible for supporting the team’s counterparty credit coverage of financial institutions: primarily commercial banks and broker dealers. The role will be instrumental in with ongoing management and growth of the Equities (Stock Loan and OTC Total Return Swap (TRS) business), Fixed Income (Repo/Reverse Repo), OTC FX (Prime Brokerage & Bi-Lateral) businesses & TBA hedging with Banks and Mortgage Originators. The position requires close interaction with the front and middle office, Legal, Collateral Management, and related internal corporate functions including: Treasury, Information Technology, Regulatory, Market Risk, Risk Operations among others.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to obtain needed credit information;
- Conduct counterparty credit due diligence calls;
- Review and draft the key credit terms in legal agreements;
- Complete internal credit ratings models and counterparty credit reviews;
- Review daily credit monitoring reports across the various businesses to ensure compliance with established credit limits and margin terms;
- Provide commentary and propose remediation for limit exceptions to senior management and work with the Business to remediate;
- Perform ongoing client financial, credit, and industry surveillance;
- Develop working relationships and coordinate efforts closely with internal front office partners and colleagues across Risk and other corporate functions;
- Enhance existing and/or create additional credit reports and presentations as needed
- Maintain credit pipeline of potential new counterparties;
Required Background/ Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Counterparty Credit Risk (specifically banks and broker dealers)/
- BA or equivalent, MBA preferred.
- Formal credit training preferred.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis.
- Financial and/or banking industry experience, with working knowledge of industry traded products preferred.
- Experience with legal agreements including: MSLAs, MRAs, MSFTAs, ISDA and MCAs.
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong Excel and modeling skills.
- MS Office Suite and Bloomberg proficiency.
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $275,000
