The Finance Department engages with the firm’s key decision-makers and delivers purposeful support and service to Dimensional’s clients as well as other departments throughout the firm. The Senior Associate will support the realization of Dimensional’s Corporate Finance priorities by assisting in the company’s accounting close and consolidation process leveraging investments in people, process & technology. The objective of this role will be to perform core accounting activities and identify areas of improvement and optimization of the Corporate Finance department assisting in centralized global accounting activities, including accounts receivable, leases and corporate fixed assets. The individual who assumes this role will obtain a firm understanding of key processes of Dimensional to leverage for future growth within the accounting team. This role plays a critical part in the execution and coordination of the global nature of the Company’s operations, as well as identifying process improvements throughout the financial close and corporate accounting activities.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Controls
- Responsibility for assisting with the administration of month- end close, including close management software and ensuring that sequential tasks and dependencies are prioritized and executed on schedule.
- Administration of the Corporate Fixed Asset process, including managing additions, retirements and depreciation for the United States and foreign entities.
- Administration and maintenance of the lease module, primarily the maintenance of existing leases in the ASC 842 module.
- Preparation and reconciliation of Property & Equipment rollforward.
- Preparation of journal entries across multiple workstreams, including cash management, accruals, prepaids and other areas, as necessary.
- Recording cash receipts and receivable applications across multiple entities
Accounting Policy
- Ensuring capital expenditures are accounted for appropriately in accordance with Dimensional’s accounting policies for long- lived assets.
- Ability to analyze and communicate accounting requirements for capitalization.
Vision & Strategy
- Support the execution and operation of several of the Company’s global accounting processes, as well as strategic collaboration with the Company’s international accounting teams.
- Ability to partner with multiple stakeholders in the Corporate Fixed Assets process, including Accounts Payable, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Corporate Tax.
Audit
- Assist with the consolidated and global statutory audits, including answering questions and functions as the enterprise subject matter expert and principal point of contact for multiple audit areas.
Qualifications:
- 4 + years of progressive and relevant accounting experience with private industry experience spanning a global enterprise. Big Four, Financial Services or Asset Management experience a plus, but not required
- Experience working with Fixed Assets and Fixed Asset Accounting systems
- Proficiency working with excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.
- Exposure to the Oracle Cloud environment preferred, but not required
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to effectively share and engage with internal stakeholders
