Job Description
The Technology Services (TS) is an internal function and is responsible for ensuring consistent technology infrastructure and a standard set of tools and applications across our Asset Management business.
Position Summary
The Business Analyst will report directly to the Director, Technology Services. This position is responsible for providing appropriate business analysis activities to support all assigned project activities in cooperation with and under the direction of the TS Director as well as assigned Project Managers. This role requires a results-oriented individual with a passion for collaboration, strong communication skills and attention to detail that drives business results. Key capabilities for this role are financial analysis, with preferred previous experience in Fin Tech, financial or asset management sectors.
Responsibilities
Support the PMO and Project Managers in identifying the financial, technical and human resources requirements to complete projects.
Elicit, Analyze and document business requirements for projects and translate them into functional specifications.
Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments, including contribution to the project risk mitigation plans and the maintenance of Risk, Actions, Issues and Decision documentation.
Develop, execute and lead user acceptance testing efforts.
Update documentation based on feedback collected from various stakeholders
Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the development teams.
Document and distribute meeting minutes.
Support TS Operations teams with task execution, including data analysis, documentation, test scripts, following-up with support vendors, and submitting requests needed to onboard projects.
Ensure issues /defects are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Work with TS and /or Business Unit personnel to identify required changes, communicate needed changes to technical team members.
Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree/ diploma required.
3-5 years’ experience performing business analysis duties.
Proven experience in financial analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse and geographically dispersed group of project stakeholders, Service Groups, Business System Owners and subject matter experts.
Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative business and technology relationships.
Excellent cross-organization/cross-function project management and collaboration skills.
Proven experience in learning new technologies and tools at a rapid pace.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a multi-Vendor environment.
Strong work ethic, with proven ability to work collaboratively
Proactively seeks opportunities to help the project team reach the end goals.
Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders (ex. 3rd-party vendors)
Preferred previous experience in mergers and acquisitions.
Preferred previous experience in Fin Tech, Financial or Asset Management sectors.
NY Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations
