By working with the day-to-day accounting and administrative operations for real estate development projects and construction.
Expectations for the role:
- Assist accounting and construction leadership to provide timely and thorough information, insight and analysis to contractors concerning their respective development projects and related budgets.
- Prepare and enter all project job cost and journal entries necessary to maintain budget cost categories and ledger accounts to accurately reflect financial activity and balances.
- Assist with periodic project funding requisition packages for submission to various lenders and investors.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial statements, providing variance comments and similar analysis as necessary.
- General ledger entries, reconciliations, month-end, closings, presentation of balance sheet, income statement results, budgets and analysis
- Responds to inquiries from third parties including but not limited to owner, partners, lenders, investors, vendors, housing authorities and other governmental agencies
- Assist with periodic and year end workpapers and documentation as necessary for external auditors to complete cost certifications, tax returns and audit preparation.
- Special projects and assignments as requested.
What you should bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar discipline
- 1-2 years of real estate and/or construction project cost accounting experience
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to be flexible, work in a faced paced environment and meet deadlines
