Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Marketing team is looking for a Creative Director to join our team of writers, designers, and multimedia strategists as we seek to further our goal to be the advisor to the advisor. In this newly created role, you’ll have the opportunity craft the vision and strategy for the creative team and bring it to life. While we’re a B2B Marketing team, we’re driven by our mission and always focused on the end investor. In this role, you’ll help tell our story to Financial Advisors, highlighting how our thought leadership, investment products, and financial planning tools can help advisors with their clients' investments.

You’ll lead, direct, and advise crew who implement creative concepts and design solutions for all our marketing materials, presentations, and audiovisual media. You oversee the maximization of crew and drive process efficiency. And you’ll coach and guide team on their development journey, ensuring we future proof their careers.
This role:
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Organizes and facilitates brainstorming sessions with senior leaders across divisional lines. Critiques work to drive content, design, and presentation solutions. Oversees and partners with internal clients to determine creative tools and solutions, ensure appropriate staffing, and provide support and guidance each step of the process. Leads external vendor strategy for creative services.
- Sets standard operating procedures and workflows. Approves and monitors production and archiving. Evaluates and recommends cost efficiency. Promotes continuous improvement and adoption of new technology and industry best practices for creative services. Establishes audit processes to ensure quality control for crew and teamwork. Monitors adherence to project tracking, backup, and archiving procedures of all audiovisual files and digital assets.
- Develops and oversees design standards and helps evolve Vanguard's brand identity by pioneering new creative services and strategies. Complies with Vanguard policies regarding electronic media.
- Builds cross-functional working teams with both internal and external partners. Provides status updates to the business regarding various creative services projects and processes. Leads discussions with senior leaders to prioritize projects, accommodate workload changes, and resolve highly complex creative services issues.
- Analyzes data and researches root cases of creative services' problems. Collaborates with the business and leaders to ensure finalized products satisfy clients' needs and expectations. Gains buy-in from leaders and stakeholders to implement new or non-traditional creative services or design concepts. Proactively communicates to leaders of any concerns.
- Identifies, collaborates with, and oversees relationships with external vendors. Partners with vendors in implementing higher profile or costly artistic services or design solutions for Vanguard.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
- Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least three years of media services experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
This role is part of our hybrid work model with Tuesdays – Thursdays required in our offices to foster collaboration and relationships. On Mondays and Fridays, our crew will have the option to work remotely, or continue working from our offices in Malvern PA.
