The Head of US Asset Servicing will join Vanguard’s global Middle Office leadership team to lead teams in the US accountable for ETF Operations, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations, and Investment Book of Record. These teams of 50 crew in the US, partnering with teams in EMEA and APAC, are critical to support the daily operations of Vanguard’s mutual funds and ETFs. - Lead and develop a team of operational leaders responsible for setting targets and delivering outcomes for clients and internal partners centered on quality, risk, value, and productivity.
- Collaborate across functions and regions to set and execute on the strategy to evolve Middle Office operations in our Global Owner model, where we seek to reduce geographical siloes in order to become more effective.
- Serve as an outstanding operational domain leader, bringing Lean best practices to life throughout Middle Office.
- Work collaboratively with leaders across divisions to deliver outcomes, contributing to EIS and Finance 2030 aspirations.
Core Responsibilities
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Develops and oversees the strategic operational planning. Ensures operational aspects of the funds are met for the department. Establishes, leads, and executes short and long term goals.
- Develops, drives, and implements strategic and operational plans. Develops global approach and the vision for the planning and development of short and long range goals.
- Leverages strong awareness of market trends, new services, and emerging technology to identify opportunities and risks.
- Oversees, manages, and owns the resolution of key initiatives. Contributes to the development of the departmental business planning and budget.
- Collaborates with senior leaders across the department and division to determine growth objectives and opportunities. Establishes metrics to determine effectiveness and progress.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ten years related work experience, with at least Five years of financial services or operations experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
