About The Role
THE POSITION
Wellington Management manages approximately $22 billion in hedge fund assets on behalf of our clients worldwide. Our Global Macro business is over $6 billion and rapidly growing. To ensure that we continue to exceed our clients’ investment expectations, we are seeking to recruit an experienced developed markets directional rates Portfolio Manager to join the team. The position is based in either New York or Boston.
This individual will be responsible for managing a significant alpha sleeve consistent with their stated philosophy and process, and within their area of specialization. Their alpha target will be available across the wider platform for incorporation in multiple client mandates, including macro funds and Multi Strat hedge funds. Wellington envisages this to be a long-term career opportunity that would allow and support a PM to take sufficient risk to make significant returns.

Responsibilities Will Include
- Manage a meaningful discretionary rates alpha sleeve target as a member of the Global Macro team
- Contribute to the global macro and broader firm investment dialogue and debate
- Support our investor relations and client groups to further grow assets and build client demand
- Mentorship of high potential talent within the team
Essential Skills
Qualifications and characteristics include:
- A minimum of 5 years of PM experience managing meaningful assets in developed market rates with a demonstrated ability to scale risk and an attributable investment track record
- Strong investment philosophy and repeatable process for decision making, portfolio construction and risk management
- Fiduciary, relentlessly focused on client outcomes with the highest personal and professional integrity and ethics
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative and inclusive work ethos
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a global team
- Self-reflective and focused on constant improvement in both skills and decision making
- Strong academic credentials, ideally including a post-graduate or professional qualification

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 100,000 - 225,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
