Job Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Strategist to join top ranked II Healthcare Strategy and Trading team. We are open to an Analyst, Associate, and Vice President. The role will be focused on Biopharma (Pharma, Biotech, Specialty Pharma, Generics). The ideal candidate would come from sell side equity research, banking, buyside or Biopharma industry with 1.5+ years of experience. We expect the candidate to start immediately and work out of our New York City office (this is not a remote position).
Responsibilities will include:
- Leveraging broad Biopharma research teams and proprietary research to come up with actionable single stock and thematic investment ideas
- Real time interpretation, communication and comparative analysis of early and late stage clinical data
- Conceiving and executing on differentiated project ideas across the Biopharma investment landscape
- Real time tracking and monitoring of Biopharma pipelines for both single companies and broader indications and therapeutic modalities and mechanisms
- Interfacing with company management teams, internal sales and trading personnel, and the firm's institutional investor client base
- Building and maintaining Biopharma macro models
- Building and maintaining Biopharma sub sector performance tracking models
- Transformation of analyses into actionable insights through succinct written summarization and data visualizations
Key qualifications:
- Ideal candidate qualities: competitive, creative, analytical/quantitative orientation, intellectually curious, organized, team player, outcomes focused
- Deep understanding or experience with drug development and the FDA approval process for pharmacologic treatments
- 1.5+ years of experience in Biopharma sell side equity research, banking, buyside or industry
- Understanding of IP and patent law along with familiarity of the IP and patent litigation process is a plus
- Understanding of clinical trial statistics is a plus
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication of complex topics with the ability to simply and succinctly communicate complex topics is required
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Software Suite required
- Experience with Bloomberg, Python (or other coding languages), Visible Alpha is a plus
Education:
- BA required, major in science, medicine, math/statistics preferred
- Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (PhD/MD/PharmD) a plus
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $100,000 to $200,000.
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
