Boyd Watterson Asset Management, LLC is an independent investment advisor specializing in real estate, fixed income, and equity products. We provide investment solutions to a broad range of institutional clients and to high-net-worth clients, mainly through intermediaries.
Our investment strategies focus on stable income with a moderate risk profile. The real estate products are mainly delivered through private funds that primarily own and operate commercial buildings under lease to agencies of the US government, and state and local governments. Our fixed income and equity products are delivered through separately managed accounts, mutual funds, and intermediaries.
Requirements
The Opportunity
Our Human Resource Generalist is responsible to provide administrative support for the SVP of Human Resources and the Human Resources Department functions. These items include payroll administration, benefits administration, recruitment screening, new hire onboarding and orientation, training & development session set up, performance review process, compensation and benefits administration, and company policies related to workplace safety and culture.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Payroll and benefits – Process and maintain payroll (to include PTO, 401k contributions, HSA, etc.). Administer benefit plans, acting as liaison between employees, benefit insurance broker, and benefit providers. Facilitate open enrollment. Assist employees with compensation and benefit-related questions.
- Position Descriptions – Work with managers to ensure that each employee position description is updated annually to properly reflect functions and expectations.
- Recruiting and Hiring/ Offboarding – Assist with recruiting and new hire process, as well as offboarding. For open positions, assist in the preparation and distribution of postings to targeted markets; coordinate interviews as requested. For offboarding, ensure employee understands the process and coordinate exit interview as requested.
- Orientation – Participate with the SVP of HR in the employee orientation process. Employees should be informed about the history of the company, the organizational culture, values, and work ethic. Employees should be properly introduced to the organization.
- Training and development – Administer annual training plans and maintain documentation of completion.
- Performance review process – Maintain performance review and goal documentation.
- Retention and motivation – With SVP of HR, seek ways to improve employee morale, retention and motivation. Continue to enforce the company’s culture and position the company as an employer of choice.
- Employee Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with all employees. Maintain confidentiality and act as support system to employees seeking assistance (harassment or conflict on the job, personal circumstances, advancement discussions, etc.). Provide assistance to employees on HR related questions and concerns.
- Company Policies – Assist in the development and maintain company policies and guidelines such as DEI, Non-Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, PTO, holiday schedule, etc.
- Compliance and Regulation – Maintain documentation of legal filings. Assist in updating the employee handbook annually.
- Human Resource Administration
- Maintain HR database and employee personnel files in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate reference checks and employment verification.
- New office liaison – Work with legal department and executive team to ensure smooth opening of new offices to include lease, taxes, business registration, employment laws, etc.
Education, Skills, Personal Characteristics and Work Experience Requirements:
§ Associate degree or higher or equivalent experience in HR related coursework.
§ Minimum of two years payroll processing experience.
§ 2-5 years’ experience on human resources team.
§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
§ Experience with active recruiting/interviewing techniques.
§ Exercise sound judgement, high level of integrity and respect for confidentiality of information.
§ Direct experience with 401K plans and employee healthcare benefits administration.
