Purpose
As a Technical Analyst for the Prime Services Data Interface (PSDI) platform (central operational data store and data warehouse for the Prime Services transaction processing systems), you will work with business stakeholders in developing and designing solutions and documenting functional specifications. This role will provide you with extensive opportunity to interact directly with other stakeholders in Toronto and NYC.
What You’ll Do
You will work as a Technical Analyst for Prime Service Data Interface (PSDI) team with strong sense of ownership for system stability and capacity. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing solutions for new functionality and enhancements to systems. You will also liaise with business in understanding business requirements and documenting technical solutions. The role requires strong analytical skills in analyzing data related to Prime Services such as reference data, securities lending data etc. You will be required to interact with other teams such as Product Development group, Quality Assurance team, support team and other internal Scotia teams in executing and delivering projects.
What You’ll Bring
- 10 - 12 years of experience in financial industry (capital markets)
- Experience with Prime Services (specially Securities Lending) a must
- Familiarity with technology such as Java, J2EE (Servlets, JDBC, EJB, JSP, JMS), XML, PL/SQL, Perl, Python, Unix scripting
- Experience in testing and analyzing data as part of data analysis
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio a plus
- Must have knowledge of using SQL on databases such as Oracle, Sybase etc.
- Must have knowledge of queues such as MQ, Tibco etc.
- Understanding of Software design and software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge in various scripting languages, system & server administration
- Good communication skills and ability to work directly with others
- Strong sense of ownership for system stability and capacity.
- Past experience with system ownership a plus.
- Ability to communicate with key business and technology stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred
