Job Purpose
The Senior Analyst will assist senior transactions team members in sourcing, underwriting and closing new investments in commercial real estate debt instruments on behalf of institutional clients of AXA Investment Manager’s US Private Real Estate Debt team.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist senior personnel in analysing and underwriting new loan opportunities and refinances of existing loans, including cash flow modelling and asset valuation.
- Interface with Brokers/Borrowers and other market participants to keep up to date with current competitive lending parameters.
- Review and understanding of underlying loan documentation.
- Review and understanding of underlying tenant leases, ground leases, easements and other documentation that impacts property cash flow and value.
- Utilize available market research (CoStar, Axiometrics, Real Cap Analytics, Green Street, etc.) to determine suitability of market conditions for investment.
- Review and analysis of property and guarantor financials.
- Prepare investment recommendations which include a collateral summary, loan terms summary, property condition review, market analysis, overview of tenancy, summary of sponsorship, underwriting/financial modelling of loan collateral, notable investment risks and expected performance of the loan.
- Coordinate with Brokers/Borrowers/Counsel/Closing Team to monitor loan closing status/closing checklist and update pipeline with status.
- Assist senior personnel in the loan closing process.
- Conduct physical inspections of loan collateral and prepare inspection reports.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses at the direction of the senior personnel.
Your Profile
Education/Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a concentration in real estate, finance, economics, business administration, accounting, urban planning, or mathematics are preferred
Experience
- 2 to 5 years of related finance and real estate experience
Knowledge And Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical/ financial modelling skills
- Computer skills necessary to perform the job include a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Argus
- 10%-20% travel may be required
