Neuberger Berman is a leading asset manager that is seeking a Private Equity/Investment Management Attorney to provide advice, support and research on a broad variety of legal, regulatory and general corporate matters for their institutional asset management business. The position will support two registered investment advisers focused on private equity fundraising and investing. The position will report to the General Counsel covering the business. Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice relating to fund and separate account formation, as well as investment advisory services to private equity funds and institutional separate account clients
Negotiating investment advisory and delegation agreements
Working with the Compliance department on policies and procedures
Assisting in the development of new investment vehicles and products
Advising and coordinating with internal and external counsel relating to mandates
Qualifications:
At least 4 years' experience within large law firm
JD Required
Working knowledge of Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940 and the 1933 and 1934 Acts and ERISA rules
Efficient and resourceful, able to work independently, handling multiple and changing priorities, and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented
Strong time-management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management
Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $175,000-$250,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
