Responsibilities:
The role is a seasoned professional responsible for leading an Investigations team in assessing code of conduct and internal investigations. This leader will determine the type of investigation and oversea high quality independent investigations to address concerns of misconduct and insider risk. This role has overall accountability for internal investigations conducted in the US Region. The incumbent will ensure timely and appropriate case management and present findings and insights to executive leadership. In addition, incumbent will maintain liaison relationships with a network of intelligence contacts within law enforcement and the financial services industry to remain abreast of organized crime groups, ongoing criminal threats, and other potential risks to the organization. This role will focus on continuously enhancing the investigative and insider risk processes to include the use of emerging technology. Additionally, the role will require strong, cross functional relationships with Legal, Human Resources, Internal Auditing, and Fraud Risk Management among other groups. In addition to leading the investigations team, this leader will need to be directly involved, oversee and assist with investigations where needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Prosecutorial or law enforcement investigative experience.
- 5 years plus of managing investigations in either the public or law enforcement environment.
- Must be comfortable in a matrix environment with a variety of stakeholders and ability to work in a team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, coworkers, vendors and law enforcement to maximize investigative effectiveness.
- Outstanding leadership and judgement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications, such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $146,000.00 - $190,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
