Job Summary:
ClearBridge Investments is seeking an ESG Associate to join their New York-based Environment, Social, & Governance (ESG) Investment and Strategy team. The ESG Associate will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of ClearBridge’s firmwide ESG investment approach. This includes a range of tasks that support ESG integration and impact activities being conducted by all investment teams and will act as a liaison for the ESG Strategy Team with all areas of the firm (central research, portfolio management, client-facing and other teams).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support firm-wide ESG projects and strategy
- Assist with monitoring and tracking of firm-wide engagement and stewardship efforts
- Assist with the firm’s internal and external ESG reporting (periodic client reporting, annual Stewardship report, and ad hoc client ESG requests/queries)
- Work cross functionally with the investment teams, sales/marketing and technology on ESG related requests and projects.
- Manage proprietary ESG systems utilized by investment teams
- Ad hoc projects to advance the firm’s ESG integration and impact efforts
- Ad hoc projects related to corporate governance issues, including proxy voting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability or asset management
- Passion for sustainability and impact investing
- Expertise or familiarity with corporate governance concepts, including proxy voting preferred
- Highly proficient in excel and data analytics preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly analytical, organized and detail-oriented
- High ethical standards

- The salary range for this position is targeted for $115,000 to $150,000 plus discretionary bonus. Base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience
