A day in the life
The Director, Product Solutions Pricing will be responsible for balancing market competitiveness, customer value, and profitability. They must continuously evaluate and iterate on pricing strategies to ensure that the product or solution remains attractive to customers while meeting the company’s financial objectives.
In essence, Director, Product Solutions Pricing plays a critical role in ensuring that the pricing of products and solutions not only reflects their value but also drives business success in a competitive market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and develop pricing model required for individual solutions.
- Develop framework for the deal desk to ensure proposal pricing is aligned with the value proposition.
- Continuously analyze market conditions to evolve pricing strategy- develop clear understanding of the market landscape which includes researching potential customer needs, preferences, and behaviors to identify market trends that will influence pricing decisions.
- Create competitive benchmarking to gain an understanding on how competitors’ price similar products or solutions, identifying potential gaps or opportunities.
- Project profitability through cost analysis and revenue projections. Project various scenarios to help business maximize profit while maintaining effective value propositions for the customer.
- Develop pricing strategies based on market dynamics, competition and product performance.
- Align with finance and executives to ensure pricing aligns with broader business objectives and financial goals.
- Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, marketing, sales) to set targets, promotions, pricing strategies, and product launches
Building blocks for success
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in pricing strategy, market analysis, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Experience with pricing software and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex pricing concepts to non-experts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to pricing.
- Experience with supply chain management
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
- Entrepreneurial/startup experience.
- Understanding of 3PL (third-party logistics) and warehouse distribution.
Hiring Salary Range of: $130,000 to $179,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
