Who We Are Looking For
This is a critical role within the Global Sustainability team, responsible for leading State Street’s sustainability reporting program. Working closely with Finance, this role exists to design, shape and lead the program as sustainability reporting moves from voluntary standards to mandatory.
For over two decades, corporations have delivered sustainability reports based largely on voluntary frameworks. Over the coming 3-5 years, this will change, as a new set of mandatory standards come into force, led in Europe through its Environmental Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) and more broadly, by standards set by the International Sustainability Standards Board.
This is a role charged with bringing about transformation. It involves working with the current Head of Sustainability Reporting and Head of Sustainability Disclosures, and also with the new Sustainability Finance team.
As new and additional requirements develop (potentially including the new Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive), the program will grow over time and include new dimensions of reporting. The expectation is for the postholder to architect the program and ensure State Street meets its obligations and commitments, galvanizing the organisation and securing the resources required in pursuit of this goal.
Success will be ensuring State Street is organized with the right program discipline and organizational structure to support the new elements required, and ensuring State Street fulfils its reporting expectations and requirements.
