Head of Data Operations & Strategy in Finance (DOST), SVP
Who We Are Looking For
The Head of Data Operations and Strategy in Finance (DOST) will be responsible for three key functions within the CFO organization.
- Firstly, to drive Data Strategy (and multiple large and complex programs under this remit) for Finance and Sustainability; a large transformational effort to define, change and implement data centric solutions for improving Finance functions through better data design and management; for driving efficiencies in the Function.
- Secondly, to own and manage multiple data platforms for change and ensure that Finance and Financial Risk teams have access to accurate and timely data. Additionally, adapt and improve existing data operations (own and manage multiple data platforms).
- Thirdly, to lead the Finance data management and governance function, the group has broad scope to support the Bank’s extensive enterprise data strategy and initiatives, including several critical regulatory programs around BCBS 239 and Data Governance.
The role will manage a team of approximately 80 FTEs globally in N.A, Europe and India.
What You Will Also Be Responsible For
As Head of Data Operations & Strategy in Finance you will:
- Lead and execute multiple critical change programs around data that go across the enterprise and require senior stakeholder engagement. Represent Finance in various senior forums and committees.
- Responsible for the ongoing development and execution of the Finance and Sustainability data strategy. Deliver output consistent with roadmap / goals in waves that enable the success of the overall multi-year effort. The plan of execution will require close coordination with Finance, Risk, Business Units, Sustainability, CDO office and Technology.
- Engage with technology to deliver innovative and adaptive solutions to enhance Finance data capability whilst simplifying the finance data architecture; this role will require close partnership with IT delivery teams, architecture, and corporate data management functions.
- Use data as an enabler to drive efficiencies in Finance via process improvements (simplification and streamlining). Assist Finance leadership in providing data solutions to support process optimization, regulatory and non-regulatory change programs.
- Manage and operate multiple data platforms across Finance, Risk and Treasury that are used to collate data from across the enterprise and publish governed data for a majority of regulatory and risk processes. Adapt, maintain and operate Finance data models to support all upstream business and system changes. Additionally, drive the implementation of changes required to meet regulatory updates.
- Drive global regulatory programs on data (BCBS 239) and adoption of Firm’s Data Governance Policy across Sustainability, Finance, Risk and Treasury.
- Partner with Enterprise Data Governance on corporate data initiatives, policy development & implementation, project implementation, and ongoing reporting. Owns and facilitates data domain activities for Finance functions. Participate as a member of data committees (including EDMC) and other working groups.
- Publish practical dashboards to measure the health of Finance data throughout the delivery of projects and BAU activity for senior stakeholder transparency.
- Drive a “horizontal” data quality framework to identify and remediate data issues across Finance, Treasury and Risk, targeted to improve data issue management with business units. Unite efforts across Finance, Treasury and Risk and bring new efficiencies to data management efforts through process alignment and simplifying data provisioning.
- Manage and enable data distribution across Finance, Treasury and part of Risk via the use of BI tools; support teams that require granular data and analytics. Partner with a variety of Finance, Risk and Treasury reporting teams to ensure data is accessible and being used appropriately, securely, with formally commissioned and supported tools in support with our enterprise controls goals for critical tools and limiting use of ungoverned macros.
- Drive a culture of engagement, transparency, expectations-setting, accuracy and maturity across the group’s responsibilities while inspiring a global team to provide world-class solutions, maintenance and support.
Qualifications And Skills Include
- 20+ years’ experience with Core Corporate Finance and Corporate Functions – exposure to the General Ledger, Chart Of Account, FP&A, Procurement, Regulatory Reporting, Credit and Market Risk functions.
- Strong experience in Data Design and Management – demonstrated experience in data architecture design and governance.
- Core competency in Process Design – Hands on experience in capturing, communicating, redesigning and execution of business processes across a wide and formerly federated business functions.
- Team Leadership and Strategy Delivery – strong experience in directly managing a global solution delivery team, demonstrating leadership, management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills using a change and solution delivery mindset.
- Project Management Leadership – PMO experience in establishing a proactive, subject aware project management team to deliver a wide program of activities. Ability to drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with other large programs and business priorities to deliver desired outcomes.
- Communication – strong communication skills and executive presence with the ability to influence business and corporate function partners to execute against planned strategies and timeline. Ability to translate complex data and process concepts into layperson terms fundamental to getting senior management buy-in.
- Collaboration – ability to work across organizations and influence other groups in driving to achieve common goals bank-wide, on both topics, Finance and ESG Data.
- Analytical skills – require both qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

Salary Range
$225,000 - $337,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
