The Role: We seek an enthusiastic, results-driven candidate to serve as a Project Manager within the Workplace team. In this role, you will work with partners in Technology, Product Management, Support and Sales to drive large and complex initiatives forward. You will create project plans, identify dependencies, track progress, and monitor risks to deliver high quality products and services. You will coordinate with the program manager for tracking and managing projects as part of the larger Morningstar Retirement organization increasing levels of visibility, risk and governance to ensure that our initiatives are delivered on time and within budget. Experience planning and successfully delivering complex projects, including the oversight of multiple teams and key metrics, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment is critical. The ability to communicate clearly at all levels, form strong relationships with stakeholders and proactively identify and manage risks is essential in this role. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects through all phases of development while maintaining high quality, timely deliveries
- Foster a collaborative and safe environment for all team members
- Collaboratively create well-structured project plans and track their progress.
- Exhibit strong leadership in facilitating estimation, work breakdown, and scheduling
- Identify, track and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues to conclusion, defining appropriate risk mitigation and contingency plans
- Work with Program and Product Managers to define and maintain the roadmap
- Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders including Technical Managers, Product Managers, Account Managers, Operations, and Implementation.
- Serve as an active member of the PMO team, helping to define processes, process improvements, standards, and metrics.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of, and experience with, software development projects and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- 5+ years of software project management experience
- A bachelor’s degree
- Experience with project management frameworks including: waterfall and agile.
- PMP, CSM or equivalent is a plus
- Experience with Jira and Asana is a plus
