The Client Sales Executive, Corporate Channel will be a key spokesperson for the investment management philosophy, products, firm mission, strategic vision and culture. They will be responsible for the development of a sales strategy to both drive new assets and build on new and existing client relationships. The sales executive will be responsible for increasing the Firm’s assets by employing Western Asset’s consultative approach to developing investment solutions for corporate pension clients.
What You Will Do
- Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective investors with the objective to achieve profitable growth, develop new investor relationships and raise assets
- Identify and assess the prospects’ investment objectives and determine appropriate investment solutions
- Embrace a client -centric approach to solution creation, incorporating the highly customized nature specific to company mandates
- Create, develop and deliver sales presentations to prospects, coordinating the involvement of other internal stakeholders as needed
- Review and coordinate all prospect communications (presentations, RFPs, RFIs and ad-hoc requests)
- Meet with identified prospects frequently in order to gain knowledge, visibility and momentum in building a value-added relationship consistent with Western Asset’s approach that success covering sophisticated institutional investors requires a high-touch approach
What You Bring
- A minimum of 10 years of experience servicing in an institutional; sales role within a recognized and respected asset management firm
- Hands on experience working with sophisticated institutional investors and delivering on their asset allocation needs
- Strong fixed income product knowledge, with the knowledge of other asset classes a plus
- Deep experience of capital markets and complex financial instruments
- Self motivated with the ability to drive results, setting and achieving compelling goals and proven track record of raising assets from investors within one or more channels.
- Thrives in working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment where dialogue is promoted and ideas are shared openly.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to engage in technical and in-depth conversations with sophisticated investors.
- Highly motivated and comfortable working with a fair degree of autonomy and demonstrating tremendous initiative and personal accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field required
- Series 7 and 63 licenses required; Series 24 a plus
Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $175,00 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other forms of compensation such as, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
