Job Description:
Waterfall is looking to hire a Vice President to focus on managing the legal structuring, execution, maintenance, financing, securitization, workout and disposition of asset-backed private credit investments (through both asset acquisitions and as collateral for direct lending facilities) across a range of commercial real estate, consumer and small business asset classes.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the firm’s related business lines (CRE, Private Credit and Bonds) in the management of their respective portfolios of investments.
- Driving deal documentation processes.
- Coordinating internal groups, deal counterparties, external counsel and service providers (e.g. servicers, trustees, custodians and account banks).
- Monitoring relevant regulatory developments.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- J.D. required.
- At least 5 years of experience managing asset-backed private credit investments and/or capital markets transactions at a top law firm or in-house, preferably on a trading desk in a large investment bank, buy-side firm or similar environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contracts related to CRE and ABS asset classes.
- Familiarity with capital, legal and tax structures, and basic concepts related to consumer regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead/manage multiple transactions, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to oversee and effectively manage outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
