OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Analyst will be responsible for assisting the initial review, origination, and underwriting/due diligence of commercial real estate loans throughout the U.S. The Analyst will have the opportunity to work with multiple debt products: bridge/transitional, CMBS, construction and mezzanine solutions for all commercial real estate classes, in addition to working on other structured real estate financing transactions.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works effectively in teams, is detail oriented, and able to work on multiple transactions at once in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and screen debt financing opportunities.
- Create detailed cash flow analyses using Excel.
- For each prospective transaction, review and research property, market, Sponsor, and property financials.
- Prepare and present internal investment memoranda to senior staff and management detailing transaction rationale, loan risks and mitigating factors, and lender return on investment.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of and strong interest in commercial real estate, capital markets, and debt financing.
- Excellent verbal, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborate team environment
- Proficiency using Excel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, economics, engineering or math field, with a demonstrated interest in real estate finance.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATION
- No certification, license, and/or registration is required
LOCATION & COMPENSATION:
- This is an onsite (4-5 days) position based in Bayview’s New York, NY office.
- Base compensation is expected to be $80,000-95,000, with opportunity for incentive compensation including a performance-based bonus.
