OVERVIEW:
The D. E. Shaw group seeks an experienced, thoughtful, and resourceful specialist to join its People Operations team. Members of People Operations play an integral part in managing and continually enhancing the employee experience at the firm. WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You’ll collaborate on a variety of complex cross-functional projects and processes, which may include driving initiatives to optimize workflows, leveraging the latest technologies to solve operational challenges, and performing tasks related to the employee life cycle and experience (e.g., compensation analysis and reporting, internal mobility processes, and employee perks).
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A bachelor’s degree is required and a minimum of three years of experience in, or exposure to, a human capital function and human capital systems (e.g., Workday) is preferred.
- Expertise in automating work processes, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for managing and visualizing large data sets, and experience with basic programming languages (e.g., Python) are essential. A familiarity with and interest in generative AI is required.
- Utmost discretion handling confidential information and high attention to detail are a must, as are proven operational and project management skills in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated learning agility, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, consistently meet deadlines, and suggest process improvements are essential.
- Well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are also important traits.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $140,000 to $170,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
