Job Title: Real Estate ESG Associate

Job Overview:
The ESG Associate will report to the Global ESG Lead and will be part of the team assisting in all aspects of the firm’s sustainability strategies – from development to execution – across the firm’s public and private real estate investment platforms. The position will be based in CenterSquare’s headquarters office located in Conshohocken, PA.\
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of ESG investment strategies across CenterSquare’s listed real estate, private equity real estate, private debt real estate, and strategic capital investment platforms.
- Assist in the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria in investment processes, including supporting relevant investment due diligence and ongoing asset management activities and initiatives, including the development and maintenance of tools to support integration activities and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain ESG databases across investment strategies.
- Assist in reporting for ESG strategies across reporting platforms (UN PRI, GRESB), CenterSquare’s annual sustainability report (including TCFD reporting), and quarterly/ad hoc client reporting.
- Conduct research to remain aware of real estate sustainability best practices.
- Assist in responses for sustainability-related RFPs, DDQs and other client requests.
Qualifications:
- Strong academic background with relevant undergraduate university degree, preferably finance, economics, real estate, environmental science or sustainability
- MBA and/or other advanced degree is preferred
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and process-oriented approach to work
- Strong data management skills
- Project management and organizational skills – ability to prioritize and execute effectively
- Strong teamworking and communication skills
- Demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit – proactive and self-motivated with strong work ethic
