The Senior Underwriting Director, reporting to a Managing Senior Underwriting Director, will be experienced in handling high face amounts. They bring a specialized skill set and a keen attention to detail that is essential in accurately assessing and managing the risks associated with these substantial policies. Their expertise in underwriting high face amounts enables them to meticulously evaluate complex cases, apply advanced risk assessment methodologies, and ensure that the underwriting process aligns with the unique considerations of large policies.
Position Responsibilities:
Continue maintenance and growth of our strength in Underwriting
Manage relationships with all Customers including Regional Sales Vice Presidents, National Sales Vice Presidents, Advanced Markets, Producer Groups, and Producers
Manage change in a highly competitive market
Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics
Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting best practices
Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 10 years Life underwriting experience
AALU or FALU designation preferred. ACS designation is an asset as well.
Expert knowledge and understanding of medical, non-medical and financial underwriting principles and practices
Expert knowledge of reinsurance market place, treaties, agreements and available capacity
Exceptional priority management with ability to work effectively under deadlines, balance published service times with an appropriate customer focus and balance between production responsibilities and the management of the team.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
Expert knowledge of mainframe and PC environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of and ability to apply project management skills
Expert knowledge of insurance contract law and state legislative requirements as they relate to the underwriting and issue of life insurance contracts
Ability to create, maintain, and manage the ongoing relationships between the team and its customers, ensuring all team members are familiar with the customers and the way they conduct business
Ability to influence and negotiate in positive ways with strong people skills

$114,975.00 USD - $206,955.00 USD
