PGIM Private Capital (PPC) is seeking an energetic, results-oriented Manager to join its Operational Risk Management team. The position will be hybrid, based in Newark, N.J. and the incumbent will report directly to the Head of Operational Risk and will partner with control and functional partners across PPC and PGIM.
What you can expect:
- Help lead the implementation of the Enterprise operational risk framework across PGIM Private Capital (PPC) and ensure compliance with operational risk policy requirements (Third-Party, Business Continuation, Records, Model and EUCs)
- Establishing a process to more frequently conduct Risk and Control Self Assessments and deep-dive assessments across PPC.
- Developing robust reporting and tracking mechanisms for key risk indicators across top risks, emerging risks, and third-party risks.
- Enhance PPC’s risk event program (timely and complete capture of global risk events, root cause analysis, development of mitigation plans in partnership with the business).
- Help lead the assessment of operational risks associated with new product/market development, facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure risks are identified and that mitigation plans are in place. This requires the candidate to have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop relationships with business and functional peers as well as the ability to partner with and present to senior leaders at PPC. Additionally, the Manager will ensure the adherence to governance frameworks within PPC and PGIM.
- Establish a process of benchmarking with other PGIM affiliates on PGIM and Enterprise-lead initiatives when appropriate make recommendations and help influence broader change.
- Partner with the business to ensure appropriate capture and management of the firm’s Top Operational Risks.
- Lead governance activities in support of PPC’s Operational Risk Management Committee, partner with Compliance and Legal to ensure effective coverage of regulatory requirements.
- Promote risk awareness and enhancements to the control environment.
- Collaborate closely with PPC’s regional offices and support functions across the business units to reinforce operational risk ownership and accountability.
- Oversee various requests from Internal Audit, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. The candidate will lead manage lead the SOX program and will help manage the Internal Audit relationships to ensure appropriate scoping.
- Continuously assess the industry’s relevant risk events and key macro themes that could be emerging risks for PPC. (e.g. trends in cybersecurity, regulatory developments, risk events in peer firms)
- Partner with the PPC Ireland’s Risk Officer to ensure aligned implementation of frameworks and appropriate escalation.
- Partner with PGIM’s UK-based risk team to ensure completion of regional requirements.
What you will bring:
- Expansive product knowledge in the financial services industry, private credit experience would be ideal but is not a requirement.
- Expertise in operational risk management activities within a global and complex organization, including performing risk assessments, reporting, and analyzing losses and incidents, developing key risk indicators, and performing scenario analysis.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and drive change and partner with senior management in the business and support functions while retaining independence.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately is essential.
- Travel as needed.

- Operational experience but familiar with the effective design of control environments.

Salary Disclosure
Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $125,000 - 145,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
