Position Summary
This position is responsible for closing Ares Real Estate Exchange (AREX) 1031 exchange investor purchases and current investors going through the 721-exchange/UPREIT process. Role will include entity document review (trust agreements, operating agreements, etc.), closing package and loan document preparation, account transfers and redemptions, as well as other transactional aspects of Ares Real Estate Exchange program (AREX). AREX is part of Ares Wealth Management Solutions, offering a unique investment solution through financial advisors to accredited investors seeking institutional quality replacement property for a 1031 tax-deferred real estate exchange.
Essential Job Duties
- Close new purchases into the Ares Real Estate Exchange program and other post-closing investor transactions, including UPREITs, account transfers and redemptions
- Communicate and collaborate with financial advisors, investors, qualified intermediaries, and internal business team members to ensure a highly professional, efficient, well-executed and accurate closing process
- Use internal systems to track and manage transactions, important dates, and deadlines throughout the closing process for investments and UPREIT transactions
- Perform and summarize background and AML checks on prospective investors
- Work with the Client Services Team on AREX investor account maintenance requests
- Coordinate with the loan underwriting team on closings involving debt
- Collaborate with the team of product sales specialists on issues effecting closings and customer relations
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- A minimum of one year of experience in one or more of the following professional areas:
- Transaction coordinator or closer with a 1031 exchange qualified intermediary
- Commercial real estate and/or loan closings with a title company, escrow company, bank, mortgage, or real estate company
- Trust company, private bank, family office or investment bank experience
- Financial services firm working with high-net-worth clients
- Experience with 1031 exchanges, trust, LLC, partnership, and corporate entity documentation is preferred
- Working knowledge of real estate transactions, closing statements and related documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and organization and time management skills
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and comply with company policies, procedures, operations, and industry practices
- Ability to work well independently and with a team
- Experience working in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Salesforce

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$65,000 - $75,000
