POSITION PURPOSE:
The First Vice President, Business Development (National Accounts) position reports to the Partner Solutions Managing Director. As a key distribution team member, the First Vice President, Business Development (National Accounts) role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to building partner relationships and the achievement of CIM’s product sales objectives. You will also work closely with the Principal of Capital Markets to identify key target firms, measure demand within those firms, instill selling agreements, and work with back office personnel to launch product availability.
In this position, you’ll build solid relationships with CIM’s existing and prospective partners and co-investors while leveraging your excellent communication skills, in-person relationship building, and solutions-oriented thinking. You’ll identify each contact’s (firm or advisor) investment objectives, match their needs to appropriate CIM products and effectively present each product’s features and benefits. As a visible representative of CIM, you’ll put your exceptional sales and collaboration abilities to use through ongoing relationships and regular contact with partners and prospects virtually and in the field.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Managing Director to formulate strategic approaches to key firms, generating new selling agreements for Wire/Regional firms and Banks, leading and guiding existing business development team members.
A top performer in this role is a positive, highly motivated and effective sales professional with prior experience in financial sales, relationship management, and leadership with a background in the real estate or private equity industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: - This resource is not simply a “wholesaler”, they are a known quantity at the various wealth management groups with significant experience selling alternatives into the major bank wealth management platforms. They should have very long-standing relationships with key advisors at our target banks
- They would provide CIM with a demand assessment for each of our products ahead of speaking to the heads of private wealth, alts, etc. about a given product. This will be invaluable.
- This function would leverage their years of experience selling alts to bank platforms to serve as an internal resource for best practices to ensure we are acting efficiently in terms of allocating time and human capital, help to determine processes deficiencies, expanding intelligently and strategically, etc
- This resource will induce demand, and accelerate onboarding, for CIM product by leveraging their FA/Wealth Manager relationships
- This resource will leverage their FA/Wealth Management relationships to secure advocates for our product that are internal to a given bank who will push the Head of Alts to onboard CIM funds with an assurance that our funds are high quality and can be sold efficiently and effectively.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s degree required
- Active Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses required for this role
- Experience in Territory Management/Planning
- Proficiency using Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products
- 7+ Years Financial Services Industry experience required
- Experience in financial instrument required
- Real estate or private equity industry experience preferred
- Ability to travel 50-75%

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in New York City is $175,000 - $250,000.
