KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bain Capital’s global Research & Market Data Services (RDS) team is seeking a Research Associate to provide global industry, economic and demographic research and information services to deal teams and investment professionals across our global offices. The Research Associate must be a creative thinker and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple research projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Research projects may be loosely defined and require the Research Associate to filter, synthesize, and conceptualize research projects to deliver creative solutions. Heavy focus on sourcing and evaluating data and research providers to support due diligence on potential investments.
Research Services:
- Provide comprehensive, synthesized research support to global deal staff and investment professionals in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Work proactively with investment professionals and RDS team members to anticipate ongoing information needs and identifying opportunities for research collaboration.
- Deep research expertise required. Experience supporting healthcare, government and public sector industries desired.
- Maintain current awareness of relevant industry drivers and trends.
- Identify, evaluate, and build partnerships with key third-party sources to support research for potential and current investments.
- Serve as a RDS team representative in initiatives toward further improving information services provided and RDS team core competencies.
- Other projects as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial services, consulting, or other corporate fast-paced research environment.
- Masters in Information Science desired preferred but not required.
- Demonstrate competency and creativity in conducting complex research inquiries. Experience using secondary research tools (e.g., Factiva, LexisNexis, S&P Capital IQ, IDC, Gartner, and consumer-specific sources, etc.).
- Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with proven ability to effectively work in a diverse team environment.
- Strong service orientation and demonstrated ability problem-solve and improve processes independently as well as collaboratively.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow-through in a rapidly changing work environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal business partners.
- Language capabilities, experience in healthcare and government and public sector, and/or research competencies in European/Asian regions a plus.
- Interest or experience working with AI in research processes a plus.
- Eager to learn.
