POSITION SUMMARY:
The individual in this role will be a critical member of the finance team responsible for the operations of Audax Management Company. The focus of this role will be to assist the Controller with cash management, capital allocations, distributions, financial reporting and help to facilitate the close process. The role will work closely with senior management, other members of the management company team and with the firm’s third-party administrator.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and detail-oriented team player with strong organizational and accounting skills, including knowledge of GAAP, a professional and discreet demeanor, a flexible approach to learning and “do anything” attitude. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of the financial reporting process for the management companies, comprising the quarterly development of multiple special purpose combined financial statements, as well as annual standalone financials for two international management companies.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the firm and its’ external audit firm, helping to compile support and answer questions as needed/appropriate.
- Partner with and help mentor a strong junior team with tremendous potential.
- Act as a key contributor to the quarterly close process, including preparing/reviewing closing entries and partners’ capital allocation statements.
- Review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, P&L trending analysis, and other management reporting.
- Play a key role in establishing effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal control framework.
- Assist with continuous process improvement initiatives, with a focus on the continued development of processes and best practices related to Oracle NetSuite and Concur.
- Coordinate various work streams with third-party administrator, ensuring that supporting documentation is delivered timely and in accordance with policy.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors in Accounting required, with advanced degree or certification a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in a corporate or public accounting role, preferably in private equity or financial services.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Technologically savvy with advanced MS Excel skills, Oracle NetSuite or equivalent is a plus.
Location: Boston, MA - Hybrid 3 Days/Week
