What you'll be doing
As a member of the HR, US Region Business Effectiveness team, you’ll provide strategic advice and proactive support to our business partners to advance analytical, data-driven strategies for our bank. As a Jr. 1A, Business Effectiveness, you’ll contribute to projects that impact the business through in-depth research analysis, interpretation, documentation, and advice on moderately complex business information. You’ll consult with the business on process improvements, leading the technical development to deliver high-quality processes and procedures while ensuring compliance with CIBC requirements, standards, work practices, processes, security standards, and policies.
You’ll use your independent judgment to provide guidance to project teams, applying a comprehensive, conceptual, and practical understanding of the area of specialization to a wide range of business and technical situations while analyzing business performance. You’ll participate in risk management and cost optimization projects, supporting the execution of a satisfactory risk plan that incorporates continuous review and monitoring.

How you'll succeed
Risk Assessment: Review, identify, and assess potential risks in US HR processes, procedures, and operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and processes, including creating procedures to remediate issues and minimize the impact of identified risks.
Compliance: Ensure HR practices are compliant with federal, state, and local laws, and manage business continuity risks within respective risk tolerances.
Training: Conduct training sessions for US HR team members on processes and procedures, focusing on risk strategies and compliance requirements.
Collaboration: Build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders across the Combined US Operations (CUSO) and the Enterprise to address cross-functional risks..
Reporting: Track progress and conduct analysis of data and reports. Support in the tracking and communication of performance metrics.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
