Founded in 2008, Hightower is a wealth management firm that provides investment, financial and retirement planning services to individuals, foundations and family offices, as well as 401(k) consulting and cash management services to corporations. Hightower’s capital solutions, operational support services, size and scale empower its vibrant community of independent-minded wealth advisors to grow their businesses and help their clients achieve their vision of “well-th. rebalanced.” Based in Chicago with advisors across the U.S., we operate as a registered investment advisor (RIA).
What You’ll Do
- Support the Lead Advisor/Managing Director with analysis, client service, technical assistance, and materials for client meetings
- Learn technical skills to prepare to service clients independently as a Service Advisor
- Schedule client meetings and maintain updates to fulfill client service plans
- Co-manage more minor, less complicated client relationships with support from the Service/Lead Advisor
- Attend client meetings and take notes
- Analyze client information and prepare reports and presentations
- Input data, notes, and information into financial planning software and prepare draft plans with help/guidance from the Service/Lead Advisor
- Research tax, insurance, and estate planning questions
- Create custom spreadsheets for analyzing purchase decisions or planning scenarios
- Answer basic questions for clients or fields client calls to appropriate colleagues
- Interface with the broker-dealer or custodian to obtain information or account data and convey service requests
- Maintain information in the CRM system
- Help create performance reports & investment model implementation and rebalancing
- Maintain accurate updates in financial planning & reporting software
- Train team members on processes, tools, and methodologies
- Assist with special projects, task delegation, and intern workflow/onboarding
- Support Lead Advisors/Managing Directors and Principals/Partners by creating analysis and proposals for business development
- Coordinate with clients to complete the close of new business
- Attend business development meetings and manage follow-up tasks
- Provide Business Development Annual New Revenue Goal: $15,000 or more
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics or related experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in client service or operations in the financial services industry (preferably with an independent registered investment advisory firm)
- Experience with CRM, document management, and portfolio accounting software (preferred)
- SIE, Series 7, & Series 66 a bonus
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or willingness to obtain the designation
- Experience with advanced planning models, techniques, and software preferred
- Clean compliance record and background check required
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task projects to ensure plans get done even under tight deadlines
- Perseverance and resourcefulness in problem-solving
- Initiate projects and ask, “How can I help?”

- Base salary of $90,000-$100,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
