The Corporate Accountant, Corporate Finance, will join a leading and growing private markets investment firm located in Downtown Toronto. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance, the successful candidate will work closely with members of the finance and accounting team across a broad range of activities, including:
- Assist in day-to-day corporate accounting functions, which includes processing cash payments for various entities.
- Prepare daily cash flow reporting, reconciliation and related journal entries.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statement processes, comprising journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Analyze general ledger activity, address transactional accounting inquires and resolve discrepancies.
- Support with quarterly regulatory reporting (OSC/FCA) and indirect tax filings (HST/GST/VAT).
- Prepare schedules and working papers for year-end audit and tax files.
- Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax purposes.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, as required.
Qualifications
- 4+ yearsof corporate accounting and reporting experience.
- Professional accounting designation required.
- Industry experience in financial services, asset management and/or accounting firms is preferred.
- Technical excellence with accounting software, with advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Experience working with Sage 300 ERP Premium Version 2023 & Investran system is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, superior attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates professionalism and integrity.
- Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing deliverables.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and supporting continuous improvement.
- A team player with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
