Job Description
The Benefits Administrator position supports the administration of the health, retirement, and employee welfare benefit programs for the firm. Provides front line benefits support to Administrative staff, Associates and Partners with benefits enrollment and questions, maintains employee database and files, and coordinates the day to day functions of the Benefits Department.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:
- Address benefits inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Manage and conduct new hire orientations, assist with automated benefits enrollments and maintain employee benefits records.
- Manage Non-Partner off boarding process.
- Manage initial COBRA and Qualified Event COBRA notifications.
- Support Retirement Specialist with resolving pension and 401(k) inquiries.
- Support Sr. Leave Specialist in managing employees on various Leave of Absences to ensure that all case details are documented accurately, timely and with appropriate detail.
- Coordinate with Payroll to ensure employees’ contributions and other benefit transactions are processed accurately.
- Work directly with benefits carriers and vendors to resolve eligibility, service, and claims issues.
- Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations.
- Assist with departmental Projects, compliance mailings, review of Benefits communications material, etc.
- Provide assistance with data analysis and reporting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, providing administrative support to Director, Associate Director/Managers and benefits team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum of 4+ years Benefits experience.
- Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Workday; PeopleSoft a plus.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal communications, follow-up skills and ability to multi-task.
- Heavy telephone contact with Partners, Counsel, Associates, Administrative staff and vendors.
- Must have demonstrated organizational skills.
Education/Certifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work and educational experience required.
Estimated salary range is $90,000 - $100,000. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
