Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the investment management team of a large institutional investor with nearly $25 billion in public equity investments. This role offers broad exposure to macroeconomic trends, portfolio management and investment manager research. The Investment Analyst will play a key role in evaluating external investment managers across regions and styles, assessing performance drivers, risk, and portfolio positioning. The team’s relatively small size and dynamic decision-making process will enable the selected candidate to contribute meaningfully early in their tenure. Under the guidance of senior investment staff, the Investment Analyst will assist in the coordination and monitoring of investments within the Teachers’ Retirement System’s Public Equity portfolio. This includes supporting all aspects of the investment process for externally managed domestic, global, and international equity strategies. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to conduct in-depth due diligence, and the capacity to develop well-supported recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in investment theory, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

- Support the development of presentation materials and related investment memos to communicate with senior investment department staff and the TRS Board of Trustees.
- Work with senior staff on the rebalancing and cash flow management of the portfolio.
- Assist with contract negotiation and coordination, ongoing performance calculations, fee assessments, and other operational projects. An ability to improve process efficiency is preferred.
- Interact with external investment managers and consultants in supporting the due diligence process, including travel to interview key personnel from current and prospective investment firms as needed.
- Perform other types of analysis as assigned or required.
