This position is eligible for incentive compensation and has a maximum incentive opportunity of 10% of base salary.
The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an experienced individual to work as an Investment Officer II, STRS on the Investment Data Solutions team.
Investment Services is comprised of the following business areas in the Investment Branch: Operations, Performance, Compliance, Data Solutions, and Administration. Investment Services’ primary function is toprovide middle-office operational, performance and compliance support for internal and external portfolio activities, and by partnering with the asset classes to align business services for the successful implementation of investment policies.
Under the general direction of the Associate Portfolio Manager, the Investment Officer II provides investment technology support and expertise for the Investment Branch. The incumbent supports efforts to optimize the use of data, advanced analytics, and technology to enable business growth, process automation and champion innovation. The incumbent will be responsible for technical and qualitative support for critical investment applications. The incumbent will participate throughout the technology life cycle such as but not limited to business analysis, process mapping, testing, and end-user training and support. The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following duties requiring a high degree of independence, confidentiality, exercise discretionary judgment while demonstrating effective oral and written communication skills, and professional knowledge of investment applications.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- BA/BS/MBA or possession of an advanced degree in finance, accounting or other related fields
- Experience in Investment Data Solutions or related investment field
- Experience facilitating and coordinating enterprise technology initiatives
- Experience with benchmarks and performance criteria
- Relevant on investment technology industry best practices
- Experience in interaction with external management consultants, advisor, and/or legal expert
- Team player with a strong work ethic, high integrity, and desire to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CFA designation or other professional certification such as CAIA
An incumbent who possesses a professional certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) may receive a 5% monthly base pay differential.
Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
